Recipe for a Perfect Kids’ Picnic

 In addition to a picnic basket of delicious food. Don’t forget these items to ensure a fun day is had by all.

  1. Sunscreen – avoid a sunburn and bring an umbrella if you need shade
  2. Bug Spray – bug bites are not fun and no one wants to cut the picnic short
  3. First Aid Kit – always be prepared
  4. Baby Wipes –removes dirt and stains and makes cleanup easy
  5. Blanket -creates the perfect picnic area
  6. Garbage bag – to dispose of trash so you can leave the park as you found it

 Tip: When packing the picnic basket. Put the Heaviest Items on the Bottom and Delicate Items at the Top

 Easy Peasy Picnic Menu:

The night prior to the picnic create a pitcher of Infused water. The day of the picnic fill everyone’s water bottles with the citrus water.

Citrus Blend Water

1 orange, thinly sliced

1 lime, thinly sliced

1/2 a lemon, thinly sliced

2 quarts water

Add fruit to a pitcher of water and refrigerate overnight.

Easy Peasy Picnic Snack Mix

Ingredients:

4 cups Goldfish cheddar crackers

4 cups golden raisins

4 cups dried cherries

2 cups yogurt-covered raisins

2 cups miniature pretzels

Directions: Place all ingredients in a large bowl; toss to combine. Store in airtight containers.

PB&J on a Stick

Makes: 4 skewers.

Ingredients:

2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

1 cup seedless red or green grapes

1 small banana, sliced

4 wooden skewers (5 to 6 inches)

Directions: Cut sandwiches into 1 inch squares. On a skewer alternate threading grapes, sandwich squares, and banana slices.
