30-Minute Pizza

Makes 1 large pizza pie or 8 slices

1 cup warm water (105 degrees)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
Tomato sauce – jar or can

Mozzarella cheese
Topping suggestions – pepperoni, mushrooms, meatballs, green peppers

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease a pizza pan or prepare a pizza stone.
2. Pour water into a large mixing bowl. Add sugar and yeast and stir to combine. Let mixture stand for 5 minutes, until foamy bubbles appear.
3. Add olive oil and gently stir to combine.
4. Add 2 cups flour and salt and mix until flour is well combined. Roll mixture into a ball.
5. Transfer ball to a floured surface and knead into a smooth dough. If needed, add up to one-half cup of flour.
6. Roll dough out into a smooth circle and transfer to prepared pizza pan or pizza stone. Gently prick dough with a fork to keep air bubbles from forming.
7. Top with sauce and toppings of your choice.
8. Bake on lower oven rack for 15 to 18 minutes or until crust is lightly browned and crispy.
9. Let pizza cool some before cutting, and enjoy!
